Our Award-Winning Process

Our process has made solar an easy and smart investment for hundreds of customers! Find out below exactly what you can expect from our award-winning solar experience.

1. Solar 101 & Site Qualification

During our initial Energy Consultation, we sit down with the home owner(s) and review their current power solutions. Many times this involves looking at usage from utility companies and can included examining existing solar systems.

Our solar pros will review different options with you and answer all of your questions. We consider it our main job to help educate everyone we talk to about solar and love helping them come up with the perfect energy solution for our customers.

2. Preliminary Design

If after speaking with one of our Solar Consultants, you are still eligible for solar and want to proceed, we will create a complimentary, preliminary design with real-world energy production estimates. Your Solar Consultant will then review the preliminary design with you and cover all options and calculations to ensure you fully understand your energy needs and solar options.

3. Approve Agreement

If you are still excited about solar after reviewing the preliminary design, the next step is to sign an agreement so that we can get started bringing your solar to life.

4. Site Survey
While our preliminary design process uses satellite technology for an accurate design, we have found that cutting corners in this step is where a lot can go wrong. That's why we have invested in a certified drone pilot to perform highly detailed site surveys for all of our solar projects. This ensures that any design adjustments are caught early and that we are setup for success during the remaining steps.
5. Final Design & Engineering
Once we have the precise measurements from the site survey, we use that information to update the preliminary design and beginning the engineering process. During engineering, detailed plans are drawn up to be used during the construction (Installation) step and when filing permits.
6. Permitting
When you make the investment in solar, there is a fair amount of paperwork that needs to be done to ensure approval for the installation. During the permitting step, our team of operations experts files general construction and electrical permits to ensure all legal requirements are taken care of and make your solar experience as smooth as possible.
7. Installation
At RALOS, we are proud to be a full service electrical and solar contractor which means that we handle all of our own installations. After scheduling the install day(s) with you, our team crew of electricians and journeyman will work efficiently to get your solar panels installed and connected.
8. Inspection
To finalize the construction there are several different infections that need to happen. Depending on different jurisdiction requirements, the inspection process can be a bit arduous, but our team has bean through the process several times and will help you through it every step of the way.
9. Permission to Operate
Once everything is ready to go with your solar energy system, there is one last approval that is needed and that is from the power company themselves. This can vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction and delays are common, but our team will stay diligent and moving things along as best as we can. Once the power company gives its stamp of approval and flips the switch, Your now ready for the final step!
10. Energy Independence and Monitoring

You have now taken greater, and potentially even complete control of your energy needs; Congratulations!

We don't just leave you there though! We continue to monitor and check in to ensure things continue as planned. We also have full time service and maintenance team members so if anything ever goes wrong, you can count on us to be there!

What does "Done Right" Mean?

In our slogan are the words "Done Right". While this phrase might be used by a lot of companies to mean a lot of things, at RALOS, "Done Right" means three things: We are Uniquely Experienced, dedicated to Long-Term Reliability, and A Part of the Community.

Uniquely Experienced

Our team spent the majority of the past decade working with the largest, most experienced teams in the Solar Industry. We have worked to facilitate more solar installations nationwide than the total capacity of residential Solar installed in the State of Idaho. While Solar continues to grow exponentially around the country, our goal was always to come back home and put our years of experience to work serving the Treasure Valley and providing a world class Solar experience in our own backyard. Also, RALOS is a full-service Electrical Contractor, and our electricians have been working in Idaho for over 20-years, so whether its solar, EV chargers, batteries and back-up generators, or general electrical work, our team can do it all without the need for subcontractors.

Long-Term Reliability

Let's be honest: Solar Power is not a fly-by-night service, and your Solar installer shouldn't be either. A properly monitored and maintained solar system will continue producing power for 30+ years. Unfortunately, the average lifespan of a solar installation company is only 2-5 years. RALOS has continued growing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and has even picked up servicing many of the “orphaned accounts” left by other solar providers who either closed permanently or moved out of the Idaho market.

As a full-service Electrical Contractor, we not only employ fully-staffed installation crews, but also full-time maintenance and troubleshooting technicians for monitoring and maintaining your system. Unlike many of our competitors, we only use materials and components with long-term, extendable warranties that will remain with the home even after it is sold. Our warranties cover all materials and labor associated with maintaining the system for the life of the equipment, no matter how many times the home is sold or transferred. So whether it's your dream home, or you plan to sell the home or transfer it to family, a RALOS system will increase the value of your home for years to come.

A Part of the Community

Boise is our home, and we are here to stay! With much of our team being comprised not only of Idaho Natives but also former law enforcement and military veterans, RALOS has always worked to give back to the local community by supporting local charities and other small businesses. Our goal is to bring value to everyone we interact with, from our customers, to our employees and our community as a whole. We strive to provide exceptional service and create long-lasting relationships at the same time. If you have any questions about the local charities or small businesses we support and/or partner with, feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to chat with you about it.
